Cannabis for Professionals

This workshop is designed for healthcare professionals, counsellors, social workers, school staff, and caregivers who want to shift how they assess and work with people who use cannabis.

Canada's cannabis market has become incredibly complex over the last few decades. It may not be enough anymore to simply ask, “how much are you using a week”, “how much are you using in a day”, or “how much are you using per session”.

This workshop explores a brief history of cannabis, gently introduces the biochemistry of the active ingredients in cannabis, explores delivery methods and language, demonstrates a more accurate assessment technique relating to clients’ use, and walks you through creating a THC reduction/CBD increase plan.

It includes a look at Canada's labeling guidelines and how to interpret those labels when developing reduction or use plans for your clients.

Marc Keith, the workshop presenter, works from a harm reduction paradigm and a motivational interviewing perspective of helping clients have a stable experience with cannabis.

You can find out more about Marc here, on the website and please send an email with any queries through the contacts page.
