"MARC ENGAGES WITH CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES through community outreach, as an educator, and within HIS PRIVATE PRACTICE."

I have recently left a full-time position at Vancouver Coastal Health. I worked with clients through Foundry, North Shore as a Concurrent Disorder Clinician for Youth and families. I was at Foundry for five years, and I am extremely grateful for the experience gained working with youth and their families. I am a certified Emotion Focused Family Therapist and I am trained in Transgender Care. I am currently expanding my private practice and look forward to continuing my work.

Previously, during my tenure as an Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Educator with Vancouver Coastal Health’s Child and Youth Mental Health Team, I worked with adults in the community to increase awareness and promote the prevention of substance use. Here, I facilitated workshops and delivered talks to school administrators and staff teams, community youth service providers, government and enforcement agencies, and parent groups. I also facilitated the Constructive Alternative to Teen Suspension (CATS) program in B.C. School Districts 44 and 45.

Prior to this, I spent eight years as the Youth Services Supervisor for the Parkgate Community Services Society. In addition to providing community education services similar to those described above, I engaged with youth and their families through counselling, supervised program development for at-risk youth, and provided clinical supervision to the staff team.

As a faculty member at Rhodes Wellness College in Vancouver, I taught Youth Counselling, Addictions Counselling, and Family and Couples Counselling to first-year students. Second-year students saw me again in Advanced Counselling and Professional Practice and Ethics.

I currently live and work in the community of Saanich, British Columbia.  My wife and I have two daughters, aged 15 and 19, who attend a local school and University and are engaged in recreational and social activities in the community.

I hold two undergraduate degrees from the University of British Columbia (Cell Biology and Psychology) and a Master’s Degree from Yorkville University (Counselling Psychology) in addition to numerous certifications and credentials obtained through continuing education. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
